So I heard that a Kingdom Hearts 3 got announced. Now, I loved the first, but I had issues with the second because I don’t have any handheld systems, and it seemed obvious that things would have been a lot more enjoyable (or at least understandable) if I had gone through those as well. I believe there have been still more games for handheld systems since then, any idea yet if the third will do the same? ---

I think at this point the story will be night incomprehensible if you haven’t at least read up on the various games. Luckily if you have a PS3 [Kingdom Hearts 1.5 HD Remix](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Kingdom_Hearts_HD_1.5_ReMIX) is coming out, which will allow you to play Kingdom Hearts: Final Mix (which adds some scenes to the end of KH1), and will let you play Re: Chain of Memories as well as allow you to watch all the cutscenes from 358/2 days. I don’t think Re: Coded is that important, but Birth By Sleep and Dream Drop Distance are pretty integral, it would seem. [Gametrailers did an hour long video explaining the entire Kingdom Hearts Universe’s Story, if you’re interested](http://www.gametrailers.com/full-episodes/g84vkz/timeline-kingdom-hearts). It’s rather… convoluted. ---

Yes, the story of KH3 is a direct continuation of Kingdom Hearts 3D for the 3DS. ---
