I’m trying to figure out which phrase here sounds more detestable.
I guess my vote would be for Bob Newhart on “The Bob Newhart Show”. He started out as a hot young stud, about 6’4", rippling with muscles and radiating sex, but by the end of the show he was a neurotic, middle-aged, balding little guy. Odd.
I have to back you up here. She lost WAY too much weight over the course of the last three seasons. She was still hot at the end of the series, but she looked much, much better before she lost the weight.
My wife and I work out after work and King of Queens reruns is the only thing worth watching. Since they are in no particular order, we always jokingly wonder if it gonna be skinny Carrie or Fat Carrie on the upcoming ep.
I think she did lose the weight after the pregnancy, so there’s a lot of fluctuation there.
As a potential Christa Miller stalker, I’ve wondered about this. Is it her having plastic surgery IRL, or is it Jordan having plastic surgery and it’s getting more and more comically screwed up?

That’s who I came in here to mention. Nicholas Brendon was really, really cute during the first few seasons of the show. Nice body (Helloooo, swim team episode and episode where he sleeps with Faith), gorgeous eyes, handsome features, endearing personality.
By the end of the series, he was very overweight, had bad (often greasy-looking) hair, looked way older than his character should have, and his character had lost much of his charm.
As I recall, shortly after the series ended, Brendon revealed that he had been an alcoholic for a few years, which explains much. He looked better on Kitchen Confidential, but he still seems kind of chunky.
I’ll also agree with Buffy herself. Part of it was that the horrible writing of the last two seasons of the show turned her from a likeable, smart, funny, capable girl into a self-destructive harpy who her friends tolerated for reasons that had nothing to do with her personality. The other part of it was that she lost a ton of weight over the course of a couple seasons. It’s really weird to watch the first three seasons and realize that the reason Buffy looks weird is that she actually has boobs and an ass.
On the other side of the coin - Angel put on a lot of weight between Buffy season 1 and Angel season 5, but Dave Boreanaz pulled that off pretty well. He looks better on Bones than he did at the end of Angel, I think.
Another vote for Buffy Summers.
Put me down in the Laura Prepon column. I read an interview with her after she went blond that said that she was getting hit on by me more as a blond than she had as a redhead.
I wanted to track each and every one of these idiots down and beat the crud out of them.
Redheads are a natural treasure, and anyone who would encourage such a desecration deserves a beatdown.
Huh. Thanks for mentioning this. I’m a sometimes-Scrubs watcher, but in no way a devoted fan, and while I love her character, I was wondering what on earth was wrong with her face in newer episodes. I swear that most of the time it looks like she’s having difficulty moving her mouth or conveying any kind of expression.
I didn’t think Candice Cameron was attractive before she gained the weight, but I do now. (SFW) That isn’t even the best picture I’ve seen of her, but I can’t find anything better at the moment. She’s married to NHL player Pavel Bure, I think.
Also, continuing with the theme of 90s sitcom teens, I never thought Laura Winslow from Family Matters was particularly attractive or unattractive at any point in the show; I always wondered, though, if the producers of the show were hoping she’d eventually become prettier than she ever actually did. That would have justified Urkel’s obsession with her, I think.
Oh god. You ain’t kidding. She was absolutely one of the hottest women on TV and her and Doug’s relationship was unbelievable due to the attractivity difference between them. Then she had that baby and packed on the pounds and never lost them. At the same time Kevin James was noticably slimming down. She never recovered and that’s a shame because she was gorgeous.
So I’m confused, is she supposed to be fat in that picture? Because she looks pretty damn good.
You’re right about Laura Winslow. The short chick who was obsessed with Urkel, played by Michelle Thomas (may she rest in peace) was much more attractive than Laura ever was.
My bad, I was a little unclear: no, as a teen she had gained weight and she looked like a little porker. Now: definitely hot.
And yes, I meant to mention Myra (?) along with Urkel; it wasn’t Urkel-bot or Stefan that made that show unrealistic, it was when she was throwing herself at the Urk-man and he still maintained his obsession with Laura.

I thought Frakes did his job perfectly: he was supposed to be a second Kirk…and was dedicated enough to follow Shatner’s paunchification perfectly. 
How about never-was-all-that-hot? Marg Helgenberger or whatever her name is, plays Catherine Willows on CSI. She is a saggy, craggy hag. Her lips change shape with every episode, they look uneven and nasty, and her hair is seriously frightening most of the time. She does in fact look like an over-the-hill stripper, which at least lends some realism to her role. But every time she flirts with the hot black guy (what’s his name? I’m bad at this stuff) I want to barf. She looks like she could be his old, desperate, syphilitic grandma fresh from the salon where she got the fat sucked out of her ass and injected back into her lips. Shudder.
Warrick Brown, played by Gary Dourdan, is the “hot black guy.” I’m unsurprised you didn’t know that, because obviously you’ve never seen the show if you don’t think Marg Helgenberger is attractive. I think she’s stunning, and I hope I look half as good when I’m her age.
Whether you find her attractive or not, I don’t get the hostility in your post. “Syphilitic”? That’s way over the line. Did she shoot your dog or something?
Leah Remini is the reason for this thread. She went from TINY and adorable to HUGE and hideous, and never recovered even though she slimmed down somewhat after she had the baby. Absolutely awful…some of those episodes where they’re literally having her stand behind furniture and wearing robes and stuff to try to hide her corpulence are just horrifying.
