Slight hijack In the flash video \*\*\*\*tube sites, is there a way to allow the video but block flash ads next to it? (I especially hate the one that drops and bounces) I use opera. ---

Firefox + NoScript = Excellent protection. Add Flashblock and AdBlock for a much improved browsing experience. I’ve just installed SandBoxie for an added layer of security. One of these days I’ll finally install a virtual machine and do all my browsing through that, but that seems a little paranoid even for me. Hmm… Maybe a Linux LiveCD running a virtual machine with a SandBoxie’d Firefox with NoScript, Flashblock, and AdBlock. Anyone know where I can find such a thing? 😃 ---

Find them. This year, Norton is actually good, but McAffee does not qualify at all. In fact, the best paid antivirus is AVG–although their free antivirus is bested by MSE and Avira (and maybe Avast, I can’t remember). As for Kaspersky–it’s decent, but I’ve seen things that Avira detects that Kaspersky says are fine. I just don’t know if it’s a false positive or not. (I don’t count Panda or other cloud-bases solutions.) ---

I know this will probably be regarded as heresy, but if you’re only going to by Anti-Virus so you can surf for free-porn in the filthy depths of the internet (as you would wear latex gloves while searching bins for scraps of food) couldn’t, you know, pay for porn from a reputable source.
