I suspect that your reference to “the Palestinian side”, itself, reflects a misconception. There are, in fact, two sides there. One side has most of the people of Palestine on it, and also most of the people of Israel. This is the side that wants peace. The other side has Hamas and Netanyahu on it. This is the side that wants atrocities. I’m on the Palestinian and Israeli side. If you are on Netanyahu’s side, then you’re also on Hamas’s side, because those are the same side. I suppose, though, that if one absolutely must compare the Palestinians and Israelis, the Israelis bear a larger share of blame, since they’ve had the opportunity to vote Netanyahu out, and did not do so, while the Palestinians have not had the opportunity to vote Hamas out. ---

And i also think that people who seek peace need to negotiate with both Hamas and the Israeli government, because those are the people who have the ability to make peace. Killing all the identifiable members of Hamas (which seems to include doctors, journalists, and garbage men who are employed by Hamas) is about as useful and morally justifiable as killing everyone now or previously in the Israeli government, which includes every Israeli who served in the armed forces, as well as garbage men paid by the state. Which is to say, what a massive evil it is to kill all those people. ---

Israel fighting Hamas and Hezbollah would be fine with me. That’s mostly not what they’re doing. This IDF is lead by evil people, allowing evil conduct (like the aforementioned rape - if they can’t prosecute that, they can prosecute anything - in addition to the starvation, mass murder, and other atrocities), and such an organization cannot wage war in anything close to a moral manner. Just like this American military is incapable of accomplishing anything good under Trump and Hegseth. ---
