It didn’t strike me that way, but on reread I suppose it could have been. People who seriously ask this usually throw in “democratically elected” to the conditions, which makes it more difficult (but not impossible). So either an unsuccesful attempt at humor or genuine profound ignorance… it’s getting harder and harder to tell the difference. ---

They also fidget with the definition of “overthrown”, It has been told to me in this very board for example that if a cadre of military officers trained in the U.S. throws a coup against a democratically elected government with the tacit support and knowledge of the U.S. government that doesn’t count. ---
