Well as long as someone went to the insane lengths to dredge up this old thread just to blame France for the shell game, the least I can do is add a more recent and French-specific complaint. Just got back from a wonderful vacation in Europe. Flew in to Amsterdam, took the train around Belgium and Luxembourg and down to Paris - but what I was _most_ looking forward to was the TGV down to Barcelona (where I’ve never been) just in time to catch the World Cup game between Spain and the Netherlands. That never happened because, in true French fashion, there was a railway strike going on and our train to Spain was cancelled. It was _very_ helpfully suggested to us that we could get on a train to our random choice of city somewhere in the south of France at which point we could _hope_ that a train would be heading towards Barcelona from there. We did not choose to follow that sage advice, but bought plane tickets out of town instead. Of course, same-day tickets to Barcelona being jaw-droppingly expensive, we never made it to Spain (who got thrashed by the Dutch anyway, but I digress). So fuck you France and your stupid, endless transportation strikes. I’ve been to France twice now, and there will likely not be a third trip. ---

I might be tempted to write a “Fuck **FuckTheFrench** ” post, but its one and only contribution here makes it look like the stupidest shit I’ve heard from in a long time. Even the normal stupid shits don’t get fooled by that game. With a username like that, I have my fingers crossed for a banning before it manages a second post, anyway. ---
