# Fuck France, and Fuck the French!

I would judge a tourist who proclaims Americans are rude after going to New York as just plain ignorant. So, you know ‘in Paris they were like this…’ doesn’t get very far with me.

Speaking as a former New Yorker - New Yorkers aren’t rude. They just don’t have time for your shit.

I taught/nannyed last summer for a kid in a similar situation. He sincerely resented the fact his friends didn’t have lessons over the summer. But, then again, he’s fluent in French, Portuguese, and German. And getting close in English.

Here, they teach them French, then add German. Then English as an elective in, I believe, high school.
