Religion is a plague upon humanity. I disagreed with the Taliban when they destroyed those Buddhist statues in Afghanistan, but in a way they had the right idea. Destroying every religious site on the planet would be a good start towards ensuring world peace. Nuking Jerusalem, Mecca and Medina tomorrow would pay off in the long run. Nothing of value would be lost, and all of these religious cretins would have no reason to fight anymore, so they wouldn’t be able to drag the sane people of the world into their crappy and stupid conflicts about whose imaginary friend is better. ---

First of all, why would Muslims, Christians or Jews have “no reason to fight” if those cities were destroyed. Secondly, what makes you think that would actually end fighting. The overwhelming majority of conflict isn’t due to religious ideologies but secular ones as the victims of both Hitler and Stalin can testify to.
