When German fighter planes crashed in Ireland, the pilots were held in custody until the end of the war. Allied pilots all ‘escaped’ across the border to the North.
When Belfast was bombed, firetrucks from all over Ireland went there to help fight the blazes and help save lives (no acknowledgement was ever given btw).

I would actually do it if I didn’t have 3 small kids, including a newborn at home. I basically, just logistically can’t take off on my family right now.
