Well, as long as we’re NOT discussing my statements… Yes, when told of a social problem, in general: Women discuss the problem, its frequency, implications, and the severity of its damage to the social structure. Men try to find ways to fix it/avoid it then move on. If any of the behaviour had risen to the level of moral/criminal offense, the male response becomes one of vengeance. Obnoxious idiots, however, do not require such responses. But since we’re not interested in discussing my statements, I trust this will be the last exchange on the matter? p.s. another member goes by “happy”; I go by **heathen**. ---

**heathen** - 1. I’ll admit to not knowing what you meant by telling me not to conflate yours and **Igloo** ’s statements. I simply liked the way she phrased what I was trying to express. I apologize to both of you if it was inappropriate of me to borrow her words for my purposes. 2. Your generalizations of masculine vs. feminine approaches to problems aren’t inherently boorish, because they often hold true. They’ve the problems inherent in generalizations, of course, but… well… that’s inherent in generalizations. If you’re expecting me (I know you were using “you” in the general sense, or at least I suppose it’s safe to assume so, but I use it here in the specific sense) to argue with you… you’re going to have to be disappointed on that score. However, I fail to see how this adds to the topic, simply because I don’t believe either reaction is inherently superior to the other. 3. On another note, when it comes to the question of lower socio-economic status being coincidental with boorishness, does the question of which causes which come into play? ---

The Menards close by me is actually next door to the Home Depot. (Minor hijack- at one time a crane damaged one of the words, and from the street it looked like it said “Bomb Depot”) The menards store here is almost completely populated by teenaged girls. There are a few ladies who, as Shakespeare wrote, know a hawk from a handsaw, but otherwise, if you don’t see it don’t bother asking, unless you like the blank stare. I don’t mean to make this sound as if I’m singling out the girls, the few teenaged boys who work there are equally clueless. By contrast, our local home depot has a mixed bag of men and women, the women often as helpful as the men and some more so, the prices are good and the products are as well. Plus they take AMEX, my preferred method of payment. And the Loews, (across the street from the Depot and Maynards) is spendy and no better quality than the other two! So Igloo, maybe you just need to find a better place to live!! Obviously the people by you are jerks. We’re friendly here in the midwest!!(well, ok, most of us) b. ---

What you encountered was, obviously, shite. As a new homeowner, however, I feel compelled to praise the noble individuals who work at my local Home Depot. I see them every weekend. The guys in plumbing were especially helpful the other day as I was looking for a little assistance with my leaking Regal ball type kitchen faucet and hand sprayer. They instantly knew what I wanted, and had some good advice. They didn’t even glance at my chest once, but then I am a dude. ---

This is a project I am doing on my own (btw, I just finished and it turned out pretty nice). No, I did not get my car for my birthday. No, my birthday is not in July. ---

My apologies **Heathen** for referring to incorrectly. I’m also sorry for the snottiness of my earlier response. Generalizing gets me that way. I maintain that lower-wage employees are no more apt to be boorish than high-paid executives. Just my opinion. ---
