Gotta say it’s kind of disturbingly entertaining to watch her continue flailing at “dammit I WAS NOT WRONG TO DO/WRITE THAT!!!’” If anything, _ **that** _ is even more erosive of her image. One can sort of respect you if you stand behind your fuckups, but the “yes that happened but NO you must not think it was bad here’s why…” part is where people will say “hey, stop digging!” Sign of weakness. ---

I was unfortunate enough to catch a small segment of Noem on a morning news/talk show defending herself by among other things claiming she’s an experienced dog trainer, and all I could think as I clicked away was, yeh, sure, and I bet you killed the dog rather than rehoming it because you couldn’t face the embarrassment of having to admit you’d failed. ---

Anyway, she did admit to owning it, when her (approx 5 year old) son came to the door and claimed it. He asked “Do you think that he (the bunny, I can’t remember it’s name) enjoyed his holiday?” I did not have the heart to tell him the truth about my incredibly-dangerous-to-domestic-rabbit animals, so I just gave him a happy description about it having its own room and being fed the best vegetables… The mother looked a bit pissed off that it was back, which just goes to show that there are people who can keep pets, and people who should keep pets, and there are a number of differences in the person involved, depending on their ability and dedication. Ms. Noem could not even keep a pet. ---

We used to live next to a wetland park that we could let the dogs run off-leash. Our dachshund went absolutely insane on one of the walks and out of nowhere mauled a duck in its nest (no babies or eggs) as in, “I’m gonna eat you!”. I went after him and he ran to another nest and killed another duck before I grabbed him. He was a psycho killer but we didn’t shoot him in the face with a shotgun. We took responsibility and made him stay on leash when we went for walks there. He would glare at us when we did that. ---

Noem going on all these shows and expecting them to not ask her about the dog incident is just too funny. She will not answer a yes or no question about Kim. She looks like a complete idiot. I wonder how many copies of the book have been sold so far. Better be a lot to make all this humiliation worth it. ---

As has been noted numerous times in this thread, Noem never met Kim Jong Un. After being notified about this error, Noem stated that she has asked the publisher to remove that reference from her book before publication. Am I the only one who is beginning to think that Noem _did_ actually meet with Kim? Perhaps the records don’t show it because it was a clandestine meeting that was never acknowledged by the State Department. ---

And also stupid, which is self-evident because (a) she chose to include the dog story in her book after being talked out of it by her publisher in an earlier book; and (b) because the story about meeting with Kim is so easily disproven. ---

Noem bailed on the rest of her book tour, after even conservative media outlets have begun to roast her. But her official reason is she had to return to South Dakota due to “bad weather.” ---
