I guess it’s true that a big part of being one of the deplorables is a near-total lack of self-reflection and a complete inability to understand how other people would reasonably react to your actions and words. I wonder how anyone so deeply blighted could prosper in a social world. ---

They cannot grasp it at all - it’s outside of their abiilty to understand. They perceive it as weakness.
