Dude, just look at it another way. Having to fill out those stupid, redundant forms means that there is one more driving instructor job in the state of Washington than there would be otherwise. That could be your job.
If you could just share a bit of information with your Washington student drivers I’d be personally grateful.
When they cross the river into Oregon and are on a 2 lane road they may see a sign that says “Passing lane ahead” then right before the passing lane starts they will see another sign that says “Keep right except to pass”.
What we really mean is “Stay out of the fucking left lane, assholes!” This is not the parade lane for those who set cruise control to the speed limit.

Up till this point I was all, “Yawnz, this is looking like another 5 minutes of my life I won’t get back.” I got my license in Washington. The first test I flunked, in part, because I got docked like 4 points for doing this wrong. They never taught it in Driver’s Ed. So for want of that critical bit of knowledge I had to wait a week and do the drive again. A waste of everybody’s time, really, because I can’t remember the last time I backed around a corner. Usually I just go on a bit further and flip a U-turn so I can enter an intersection facing forward.
Washington is easily the most beautiful state I’ve lived in. But it is chock full o crazy.

Any time something in my job irritates me and I can’t change it I just think to myself “They are actually paying me to do this pointless exercise.” Be thankful you have a job, do it well and you might keep it. If you bitch at work like you bitch here then good luck looking for another job.
