I am not looking forward to the Subway Series either. Not because I hate New York (having never been there, I can’t make an honest opinion about it), but because of the inevitable media hype. (By the time they’re through beating this dead horse, it’ll be fit for sausages.) Also, you New Yorkers DO tend to brag too much. Even if it’s justified, one can tolerate only so much bragging. And New Yorkers do tend to get defensive, but obviously we wouldn’t if we didn’t like the place. Come visit some time, I’ll show you around. The best thing you could say about my post was about pollution. You might want to know that New York is quite far down the list for that. In fact, Houston is currently the city in this country with the worst air pollution. And if you want to bring up other cities, in Mexico City the air is almost a plasma. While cities such as Detroit, Chicago, Los Angeles and even Vancouver have had instances of violence after a local team won a championship, this has not happened in New York. In recent memory, the Yankees have won three World Series titles, the Rangers and Devils each won a Stanley Cup, the Giants won a Super Bowl and the Knicks have reached the NBA finals twice. None of the fans reactions happened there.
