Thank you for making that even clearer Mulligan. I knew it was two guys, but I guess I just considered them “bands” because they had lots of people with them. :smack: As for the band name/album name snaffuu, my bad. :o But thank you for clearing that up. I guess back to my first point about “it’s just a song” then. ---

People, I don’t give a fuck how clever the lyrics are or how hip the group is. In my opinion, using the term “poo-oo-oo-oo” in a song is a dealbreaker. ---

It’s possible to use bawdy humor and have class at the same time. Consider Elvis Costello’s line from ‘Clubland:’ _The long arm of the law slides up the outskirts of town’_ This is a double entendre with subtlety and lyrical style. It’s not an immature reference to scatological humor. Fuck OutKast with a pitching wedge ---

_SongMeanings_ has it as boo-boo. But of course ‘smell like boo-boo’ doesn’t make much sense, so I can’t say **PaulFitzroy** ’s conclusion is irrational. ---

You and I both know they intend it to sound like poo-poo. Like I said, a distinction without a difference. For the record, I don’t find that particular song all that objectionable, but the truth is the truth. It’s intended to sound as much like poo-poo without actually saying it as possible. And therefore, it sounds silly and childish…pretty much like this entire “is too/is not” discussion. ---

It’s a metaphor for going all out when you do something and doing it right. Big Boi has gone on record as being against violence in the middle east (and the current Iraq war, IIRC.) ---

Now you’re exhibiting your cultural ignorance. Amongst my peers, and apparently the writers of the song are part of them, “poo-poo” is not even a word (I only know it from TV), and “boo-boo” is. Therefore, they’re not intending for anything to sound like anything else - they’re saying “boo-boo”, and they mean it. You just exposed the fact that you’re so outside of the intended audience (and so is the OP since he misheard the unfamiliar word to something he recognized) that you might as well not even have an opinion on the song.
