Ah, sourthern Virginia. The only place other than New Wintergland (NE as it is known to its inhabitants) where one can have a cold in April. This ain’t allergies. I don’t get allergic reactions this bad. ---

My HMO decided to change my allergy spray from Flonase, which works well for me, to Nasarel, which must be cheaper for them because that’s their only motivating factor ever. I had to call and insist that they swich me back to Flonase because the new spray had altered my sense of smell: I smelled cigarette smoke all the time. I smelled cigarette smoke inside my house where no one smokes. I smelled cigarette smoke in my bed. I told them I wouldn’t mind so much if I smelled something else, say…CHOCOLATE !!! But instead it was the most disgusting thing. Fortunately they agreed that that was pretty disgusting and switched me back. I haven’t sneezed since. ---

Welcome to the club, RT. Pollen doesn’t do anything to me. Grass, trees, animals, you name it. Mostly my allergies are what everyone else is allergic to: poison ivy/oak/sumac. Also bivalves. On the other hand, if some airborne combination of poison ivy and bivalves were discovered, I’d be buying up gas masks like they were worth their volume in gold:) ---

Whine, whine, whine. The quarter-inch of ice we got was compunded by about a half-inch of sleet/snow. We’re probably going to have to wait a month or so before all the fallen tree limbs are policed up. I’m not talking about the ones that took down the power lines, of course. Those were taken care of right away. It’s supposed to snow here again tomorrow night. Want to trade places? ---
