Fuck Soccer!

OK.

Er… Holburn

Ogre,

Excellent sentiments :). I fully agree that watching sports is one thing, but getting your ass out and playing is another! I play rugby competitively but always welcome a chance to get out and run around a little bit and play something else (which unfortunately there isn’t much chance to do in Erie right about now :frowning: ). But no matter how much tennis or golf I play (and both are certainly enjoyable to play…especially golf, which may not be an aerobic activity but is a great day out with the mates!), I still can’t watch it on TV for long periods of time.

I fully agree. If there’s some sorry shit that’s getting dirty when I play, I would certainly like to see the referee sort it out…since that’s a penalty and either 3 points on the board or a chance to move the ball 20-30 yards down the field and get it back!!! However, we certainly won’t stand for that funny stuff, and if the ref won’t sort it out, we will!!! It’s a shame to see the game digress into a mess like that, considering that most of the guys that I play against I would consider friends and we’re going to be knocking back pints later on in the day together…so why turn it ugly? I mean, I give no quarter and receive none, and every player expects to take a few thumps…but none of us want to see each other get seriously hurt (breaking someone’s neck would be a serious weight to carry around for the rest of your life :frowning: ).

Hey, you can’t knock any sport where drinking beer is a primary part of the gameplay!!!
