Gee, **Starving** , you really think my long hair in the Sixties was part of the end of civilization? Oh! You mean _guys_ with long hair. Now that makes more sense! I must admit that my generation invented vulgarity. My mother slapped the hell out of me for saying “good grief” in the mid-Fifties. She sure had her priorities straight. Words were dirtier than child abuse. BTW, **Starving Artist** is indeed an artist. ---

I saw [this story](http://www.google.com/hostednews/ap/article/ALeqM5gRkmZWkwW2CJoG-30X8eB_8b9oNgD959S8P00) today about the dog shoplifting (in Utah, no less) and thought, **SA** is right! Look what permissiveness has brought us to! Then Mrs. J. told a story about a dog her familly had in the '50s that was caught pilfering from a box of dog candy in a variety store. The dog was probably an Adlai Stevenson supporter. ---

Actually, as a non-repentant hippy type weirdo, I find **SA** ’s accusations refreshing and flattering. We destroyed the 50’s culture of America? Cool! Needed it. Big time, downtown. ---
