In past years my neighbor put up a Republican signs, and I countered with Democratic ones. This year when he put up his McCain signage I figured lawn signs never change the outcome of an election and instead of a sign I sent Barack Obama 100 bucks and volunteered for the 10:00 AM to 2:00 PM shift on the telephones at the campaign office on election day. You might as well do something that will produce tangible results. ---

You could just put up a sign beside the Obama sign that reads, “Don’t bother stealing it — every time I have to replace it, I donate $20 to his campaign.” ---

She can buy a replacement at a discount. The Kansas City headquarters has marked the signs down from $8 to $5 and now they are $1. They don’t want to have any leftovers, and the people who would have previously bought one or two are now buying dozens and taking them around to family and friends. ---

If your measure of tangible results is to piss people off between 10:00AM and 2:00PM on election day then I think you’re on the right track. Be ready for the inevitable “Go Fuck Yourself” that you will be hearing from people like me who are tired of the barrage of MCCain and Obama phone calls we have had to endure for the last 60 days. ---
