What the FUCK is Bush thinking??? WHY did he just sell this whole fucking country up the river and what the fuck are we going to do about it??? Why is anyone upset over this? Didn’t Michael Moore tell us “There is no terrorist threat”? I thought Bush simply used fear tactics to keep us all in line. Now I’m supposed to believe that there really _are_ terrorists out there trying to kill us? 😕 ---

I don’t think Bush could have done much, considering these were private deals. At minimum, he could have stalled the deals, but that’s probably it. Although I agree, I don’t like it either. And if your stomach doesn’t turn just a little bit, I’d have to wonder why. ---

Please. Lame-ass rant. 1. The ports in question are already run by foreigners - Brits, to be exact. What, brown people can’t run ports? 1.5. Since one of the 9/11 hijackers came from the UAE, that means the country has ‘terrorist ties’. I haven’t seen such bullshit since I fell down a hill in a dairy pasture. 1. Management of the port does not include security. That would be covered by the Department of Homeland Security’s various subsidiaries, as it is now. 2. Chill. ---

My first reaction is WTF? too. But let’s talk details: What exactly will be under UAE control? Exactly? Aren’t there still government agencies that have jurisdiction there, etc.? Again, it doesn’t sound like a good idea to me either, but I’d like to see the details laid out. Is there any remote chance that the owner’s politics are irrelevant to the day-to-day operations? My assumption is otherwise, like most of you, but are we just kneejerking here? Anyone? ---

Look, I ma sorry if you think I am over reacting but one does not have to be on CRACK (thanks for the insult) to see that a move like this has “bad idea” written all over it. I know that it was run up to now by a foreign country, but this is too much. The brits have not been a terrorist threat to us, and I just don’t know where this shit came from all of a sudden. It just sems like one more way that we are letting ourselves become vulnerable. Scuse me for giving a shit and wanting to do something about what seems to me just another issue in which we have NO SAY!!! ---

No, but that’s because I don’t think ports should be controlled by any foreign companies, be they British, UAE or Zimbabwean. Do I think it’s a prelude to some sort of terrorist assault?
