Unless there is some way to trigger clocks without human error, we will have to live with this level of precision. The problem is that in close games like this with 0.4 s left, this sort of human error gets unfairly magnified. I am happy that they at least use video replays for last second shots. I was shocked when Baron Davis’s show was ruled incorrectly a year or two back. ---

Is there anything the Big Ticket _didn’t_ do tonight? That three point shot was ridiculous, and he capped off the night with a great blocked shot. He scored every T-Wolf field goal in the 4th quarter. MVP, MVP, MVP! Too bad we’re going to be the Lakers’ bitches, though. ☹ ---

With Sam Cassell’s screwy back and hip, he should be an even match for Payton. 😃 For me, things are sort of win win. Either Malone gets a shot at a ring, or KG gets a shot. If the Pistons get knocked out, I’ll be totally happy, because it will be win win in the east. Either old man Reggie gets a shot at a ring, or the Nets get a third shot. Kind of sucks that 3 of the teams have to get eliminated. On the other hand even the losers are rich beyond my wildest dreams, with youth, women and fame, so I won’t feel too bad. ---

The Lakers are finally gelling and are getting better and better at the exact right time. They could easily run the table for the rest of the playoffs. Since this thread is also about the Kings. Compare the sportsmanship of the Lakers, Spurs and T-wolves with the thuggery and crybabyness of the Kings, a team forever doomed to failure. Haj, Laker fan since 1970. ---

It seems to me like the Mailman is really coming on strong in the payoffs. Old or not, he gave Tim Duncan everything that he wanted and showed up big again last night. I’m a Wolves fan obviously but if the dogs can’t get to the finals I would be happy to see Malone and the Glove get rings. Plus, Phil Jackson has a chance for NBA immortality if he gets a tenth ring. That would be a record not just for the NBA but for all of the four major sports. Actually, I think the coaching mismatch between Jackson and Saunders is an underrated factor in this series. Flip is not in the same league as the Zen Master. ---

I blame the officials. And Sports Illustrated for jinxing KG by putting him on the cover. Oh well. The Rockies were 3-1 on the Wild last season, and so were the Canucks. It’s the best of 7, not the best of 5. ---
