Fuck the Motherfucking Pope

I don’t understand your post in terms of being a reply to mine. I personally don’t think abortion is a sin, and I don’t really care whether any particular religion considers it a sin or not.

A church is free to have whatever kooky theology it wants, and to threaten its members with eternal damnation or expulsion for any kooky reasons it wants.

Isn’t someone who joins a cult, and then is expelled from the cult for not being cultish enough, better off in the long run?

How about the moral “law”? How about the basic need for known wrongdoers to re-establish their credibility? Do you understand those concepts?

Or is your simple, uninformed bland assurance that they “certainly” do not do this anymore  supposed to be convincing to anyone but your own self?

You get more disgusting with every thread, you know.

Would you then say: If a person broke a fertile hen’s egg that he killed a chicken? Would an apple blossom that had been pollenated be an apple? Would the fertile egg of an ape be called and Ape? Would you look at a few cells in a petri dish and say"What a cute little baby? Biologicaly it is the same, only religious reason makes it different. When you ejaculate then you are killing a lot of potential babies even if the woman concieves because it iis the same precious human life that is lost. Dis Gog then plan on having the lives of thousands of precious babies be lost to save one?

Too late to edit,I didn’t check and meant Did God then plan on having the lives of the babies be lost.

Isn’t that just the sayings, writings and beliefs of some other humans? Can you prove it is the will of a god? The church set it self up as the Church of God, not God. The Church decided what they wanted to be kept and if it agreed with what they decided it was in the Bible or the Church’s laws. One take the word of a human to be truth not the words of any God!

But those laws did not include eligious officials until 2002, at least in Massachusetts. Mass. Gen. L. c. 119, § 51A was amended to add to the list of mandated reporters:

In 1967, there was no law mandating reporting in Massachusetts from religious officials. Was there?

But the bad part about this is that having and abortion or procuring an abortion is a mortal sin. You go to hell. And you can pretend to be contrite to get recommunicated but you’d still go to hell if you weren’t really contrite. I agree with Boyo Jim. The church is doing this nun a favor by excommunicating her. Who would want to associate with such a barbarian organization?

I had no idea that saving the life of the mother was still not allowed by the catholic church. I thought all that was considered an indirect abortion. Thanks to Shot, JsGoddess and Eleanorigby.

Read the bullshit on this page:

I am now on board to bash the catholic church. I wonder how many people would still be part of the church if they realized how creepy it is.

I was surprised the number of people who aren’t/weren’t aware about the RCC position on abortion, so I started a poll in IMHO just on that question, if anyone wants to come vote.

Well, I can definitely state that back in the early 1980s, yes. I was admitted to a catholic hospital with a dead fetus. My OB wanted to go in and do a D&C to remove it and the rotting placenta. The hospital refused to let him schedule the procedure as it was an abortion, so he checked me out and we went to a different hospital.

Apparently I was supposed to sit there in bed with it festering inside me, and getting closer to death waiting for it to resolve one way or the other.

Defrocked after many years of being left to run wild, aided and abetted by the higher-ups. These were also high profile cases. There were many more.

Still busy, but so far:

The Catholic Church deceptively and maliciously covers up heinous crimes for God knows how long- longer then I’ve been alive, from cover up to out right lies, even it’s current leader was involved in the cover ups.

Then as the lid is blown off their cover they go “hey guys we’re different now, trust us”.

Do we take them at their word or demand to see evidence in the form of transparency?

Also anyone who thinks a 9 year old rape victim should left to certainly die because the rape impregnated her is a degenerate piece of shit. I don’t care what their religion says, they’re the ones choosing to whore themselves out to follow it in such detail.

Absolutely. And frankly, this sort of monstrous evil is something that every individual Catholic deserves to be called to account for supporting.

Well that’s the thing, some Catholics are smart enough, moral enough, and courageous enough to think “the church is wrong on this”, like the Nun in the op for example. Those Catholics don’t deserve grief over what the cunts are doing.

It isn’t the religion that is good or bad, a religion is powerless on it’s own. It’s how people choose to let that religion affect them. Christianity can lead to witch hunts, suppression, brutality, crusades, and now pedophiliac rape. It’s can also lead to charity, compassion, and forgiveness.
The wild card is always the people following it.

It’d be mortifying, all right.

Though apparently not smart, moral, or courageous enough to stop identify as Catholics and found their own religion that believes whatever they want to believe without the “condemning rape victims to death” part.

Noone? “The Episcopal Church welcomes you.”

Yup, just like they did in 1992. And 2002. Hell, they must have really changed, because they’re 2 years early this time.

Yes, they do. If they’ve given the church even one penny in the last two decades, they deserve all the shit you can fling at them. Hell, if they’ve maintained the name Catholic, helping to give the Pope some bullshit claim to moral authority as the spiritual leader of X number of people, then they deserve blame.

If they are actively working to topple the regime of evil that sits in the Vatican and sends its tendrils out from there, then maybe they can claim some level of redemption, but if they just nod and go along or make idle claims of “Oh no, I don’t actually believe that. I’m a cafeteria Catholic.” then they are guilty of aiding and abetting the evil.

Mahoney and Ratzinger should have been defrocked ages ago.
They weren’t. They just rose higher in the ranks.

Any educational administrator or counselor has been obliged to report child molestation since the 1960s. The local diocese and it’s personnel are both. While new laws specifically include all clergy, clergy was not a special exception previously if it held dual roles.

The fact is that for forty years this has been illegal and required to report in all states. To this day the RCC has not properly accepted responsibility and taken corrective measures to address child molestation by its members and it has numerous tools at its disposal to do so, such as automatic excommunication. When the RCC wants to denounce something and discipline it’s members, it knows how to do so. In this case, it has not changed its rules, but rather engaged in active cover up and putting the blame elsewhere, such as the gay community, when the gay community is not part of the RCC and the RCC molestations include opposite sex molestations.

The RCC is due for some serious reformation in this area, and the anger directed at it is anger at the RCC’s indifference to criminal conduct within it’s ranks regarding molesting children. This isn’t turning a blind eye to hiding Jews during WWII (which the RCC also did) which was criminal in Nazi occupied countries.

The problem with thinking like that is it ignores human nature. People aren’t all or nothing. Maybe they don’t agree with it’s stance on abortion but maybe they like it for other reasons.

You only have so much ire you can output in a lifetime. What’s going to change abortion troubles with the Catholic Church faster: carpet bombing all Catholics, including the friendlies on your side, or focusing your ire on the obstinate folks?

“Cafeteria Catholic” is about on the same level as that “you’re either with us or against us” crap. It’s god damn scorched earth bullshit. Better to attack the bad Catholics then go after all Catholics in some kind of ironic witch hunt.
