I’ve only just discovered that the lamest Survivor ripoff ever, _I’m A Celebrity_, is STILL SHOWING NEW SEASONS! Meanwhile, _Pushing Daisies_ is facing the axe. Fuck you, American television-watchers! You obviously are 99% comprised of a gigantic herd of walking, breathing, slack-jawed, hominoid personifications of the extreme lack of taste and discernment! ---

I loathe all of those “reality” shows, every single one, with a passion that eclipses the Sun. I join you in your dislike of them and the morons that have made them so popular. And this dislike also goes to the BRIGHT BUNNY who put wrestling on Sci-Fi. It should only be on there if the wrestlers are going up against Cthulu-type monsters. ---

I can’t claim ideological purity on the reality show front, but I at least stay away from the nadir-tier likes of _I’m A Celebrity_ and _Flavor of Love_ and the Z-list celebrity “look at me again!” crap. I’m disappointed in George Takei for being on this thing, actually. I always thought he had a little dignity, anyway. Watching elderly former stars shill their faces for shekels and attention is sad. ---

Crackpot Theory #239: The TV networks would rather broadcast shows that appeal to “slack-jawed, hominoid personifications of the extreme lack of taste and discernment” because they’re more susceptible to advertising, and the networks are really in business to sell commercial time. ---

Guys, people, men. Listen… It’s not the moron’s fault. It’s the execs who pander to morons that actually _creates more morons!_. You see the clever stuff is filtered out so people become stupider, or never get cleverer. I know that’s an oversimplification but I think it must be happening on some level. I reckon if you expose a typical ‘moron’ to quality programming they’ll be shifted down a path towards becoming more intellectual… At first they won’t like the clever stuff but they’ll get used to it, and start to like it. ---

The first time I suddenly got motivated to stop putting off doing my taxes. The second time I did a take-home exam I’d been putting off. And the third time, I put together a laundry hamper that had been sitting around in the closet waiting for me to put it together for a few months before that. At least Pushing Daisies got 2 seasons. Freaks + Geeks and Firefly only got the one, each less than a full one at that. And it kills me that Deadwood got the axe after 3 brilliant seasons so Milch could produce the execrable John from Cincinnati. ---
