Not you-I mean people like **Jersey** and **His**. They’re always claiming to be “telling what the Bible says” and standing up for their beliefs-but when they do so, they also libel other religions. Look at the filth they spread about Catholicism and Mormonism, for starters. ---

So, Nomadic\_One- are Polycarp and Guinastasia real Christians? Have they genuinely accepted Christ into their hearts, or are they just shamming? (Hint: they’re both evolutionists.) BTW, do _you_ obey the ten commandments as outlined in Exodus? Do you keep the feast of the unleavened bread? ---

The Episcopal Church has two major forms of Eucharist, the service at which people eat and drink the body and blood of Christ. The Eucharist contains and requires a confession of sin before coming to the Lord’s Table. It’s my understanding that we are expected to be genuinely thinking about and repenting our sins during it. Each form of Eucharist has a form of confession, although only one points out specific sins. Out of curiousity, why did you ask about the 10 commandments? Does that help at all? By the way, I have a sig, but never use it. On the other hand, it’s not that difficult to stick “CJ” after a post. Unfortunately, I do know people who have been hurt by attitudes like **His4Ever** ’s in that they dislike and distrust Christians and Christianity. My faith is a source of great comfort and strength to me, and it’s helped both my wallet and my soul when things have gotten rough. For people to be afraid to make use of such great resources because of the way they have been treated by Christians, in my opinion, is a shame. I think even **His4Ever** would agree that driving people away from Christianity is a sin. The thing is, I don’t think she realizes she’s doing it. By the way, **Ben** , I’ll have you know that I full well do speak in tongues, and I did so at Pentecost. To be precise, I speak in English, Japanese, German, and, recently, French, Spanish, and Italian, albeit haltingly.😉 However, as a translator, I do have a rather different appreciation of Pentecost. Ah, c’mon, Guin. H4E doesn’t know jackshit about anything. She’s far and away the most ignorant person to disgrace this board. The most entertaining thing about her is the way she applies the inerrant word of God to everyone else but she equivocates when it applies to her immoral lifestyle. **Nomadic One** , since **Siege** has already responded with a good summary of Episcopalian beliefs, I will address only what she has not. In reading this, bear in mind what she said, with which I completely agree. First, as Christians, we are free from the Law. The Ten Commandments, _as divine legislation which must be adhered to_, have no more claim on us than the demand for circumcision or to avoid cotton/linen blend fabrics. But we are not free to sin, but to live morally upright lives characterized by the Law of Love, as detailed in Jesus’s Summary of the Law – the Two Great or Royal Commandments. I fall short of keeping these totally and completely on a daily basis, but keep on trying to, with God as my help – the Holy Spirit guiding and strengthening me to continue my efforts to live up to them as ideals towards which I must strive. The OP of [this thread](http://boards.straightdope.com/sdmb/showthread.php?threadid=191045) outlines many of the Scriptures that I take as normative in trying to live my life as I believe God wants. The Ten Commandments serve as excellent guides to living out my own morality according to that rule. They are not grounds on which I can judge the morality of another – _nothing is_, by God’s own command. The [Baptismal Covenant](http://boards.straightdope.com/sdmb/showthread.php?postid=3535250&highlight=Baptismal+Covenant#post3535250), which we Episcopalians vow about five times a year, serves as a good summary of my moral code. You’ll probably recognize the first part as a dialogue version of the Apostles’ Creed; but note particularly the five questions at the end. I take them very seriously, and, while I recognize that I fall far short of keeping them as they ought to be kept, they stand for what I try to do and be. (From our discussion in that thread, you apparently see this as rote repetition – but when I recite it, _I mean what I say_.) ---

You’re right, vanilla; however, I refuse to let Jersey’s crap go by like it’s the smell of April flowers, when it is in reality the stench of the stable floor. She & His4Ever have every opportunity to cease & desist with their lies. But they’d rather pretend to be martyrs for the Truth.
