This is about as funny as that one post I read where this lady was mad at her credit card company for (either jacking her rate up or charging her fees) so she refused to pay them anything at all to “teach them a lesson”.

The post dated check story didn’t improve my overall impression either.

I’m not sure I understand the logic here. If you post-date a cheque you are effectively telling the bank, “I want to make preparations to have this taken care of now, but the money will not be in the account until the date on this cheque.” What purpose would post-dating serve otherwise?

Hint: You’re not SUPPOSED to post-date checks. By the terms & conditions of your checking account, you agree to only write checks against your current balance. If, when you mail in a check for payment, you know that you do not have sufficient funds in your account to cover it, you have committed fraud.

And banks don’t like it.

Do it more than once and not only will the bank not reverse your charges, but you could very well be arrested for passing bad checks.
