No. **Your** moral equivalent. You don’t get to dictate my moral compass, just as I do not get to dictate yours. It’s the Pit, you can flame away at the stand I am taking. I think the point was that, if one (you) is making the connection that the illegality of pot smoking is what makes it wrong, then the degree to which it is illegal ought to have a bearing on how wrong it is. And, according to **Chimera** ’s information, it’s pretty low on the totem pole as far as things the government has any concern about. We are all entitled to our own moral compasses, and are entitled to be upset about whatever we want. I get pissed off about drivers disobeying traffic laws and getting away with it, and fantasize about busting all those assholes. But I would never expect anything other than laughter if I suggested in seriousness that I was going to call the cops about a driver rolling through a stop sign, or running a red light, or whatever. Complain to the landlord for sure, particularly if there’s a no-smoking policy in the lease. That’s your recourse. ---

I’m willing to bet you drink coffee, or coke. If you do I’m going to label you a caffeine addict. It alters your behavior and has withdrawal symptoms. It isn’t illegal, but hey you were the one who wanted to talk about moral compass. You want to ignore legal status and talk about moral compass? Where does your moral compass sit where you are so riled up about someone harmlessly having a smoke? You are so fucking lucky that guy isn’t an alcoholic instead. Imagine all the problems that might come with THAT. I guess what I’m trying to say is you should be so lucky if that smoke is drifting into your apartment and making you a more tolerable person to be around. ---
