If a \*\*happyflyer \*\*was hoping that internetizens would forget that Delta jacks up prices during the booking process on their website, he’s doing it wrong.

VT was angry that day, my friends.

But when I asked for a beer on an international Delta flight last month, the flight attendant said “here, take two.” So I guess we’re cool.

Interestingly timely bump, as Richard Anderson just [announced](http://www.ajc.com/news/business/delta-ceo-richard-anderson-to-retire-bastian-named/nqJP5/) his retirement.

As a platinum medallion Delta flyer for three years running, I’ll just say I’ve been damn impressed with Delta over the past few years, and they’ve treated me exceptionally well. During the recent northeast blizzard, they thrice automatically re-booked me, kept me updated via SMS and email, and when JFK got up and running ahead of schedule they alerted me to get down to the airport right damn now because a flight is gonna be ready. And it was.

Admittedly I’m not as sensitive to fare fluctuations since most of my travel is for work. But I will miss Richard’s down-home awe-shucks narration at the top of the safety video and his charmingly insipid letters in _Sky_ Magazine.
