Fuck you, right-wing, anti-American traitors! (the effort to stop Fahrenheit 9/11)

Farenheit 9/11 in its first weekend is far more profitable than Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban in its first weekend. F911 cost $6 million to produce and $10 million to distribute, and grossed $23 million in its opening weekend, for a return of 69%. Compare HPatPoA, with production & marketing costs of $190 million, and an opening weekend gross of $93 million. That’s a net loss of 48.9%!

F911 is, so far, more profitable, by a long shot.

As of this posting, it’s at $50,009,000. Sat and Sun numbers will be confirmed on Monday afternoon.

It hasn’t opened anywhere overseas yet, and it will do very well in other countries. It’ll make most of its money on DVD though. I know several die-hard liberals who don’t go to the theater (poor souls) and they will wait for the DVD. A large percentage of people who saw it in the theater will buy the DVD, because the movie will be longer (even MORE info, whoooo!) and there should be some great extras on it. I’ll bet a lot, including me, will buy extra copies, not to inflate the sales figures, but to give away to friends or relatives who think they aren’t interested.

“hand over fist”? Yep. But that’s not why he made it, which is why he’s being easy-going about the downloading of illegal copies:

Accordingto Time magazine, which will surely piss off its conservative readers by placing Moore on the cover of next week’s issue, Miramax is now predicting F911 will reach $100 million in the first three weeks.

Also from said article, Moore suggests using the movie as a “date flick”:

The date thing isn’t a bad idea. And I’d say it works either way, when the drivelling Bushiviks are looking for someone to infest with their brood, they can take them there and see if they go catatonic and start muttering “Torgo not like! Torgo brain hurt when Torgo think!”

And why wouldn’t anyone with at least two functioning brain cells be against F911?

What an in-depth contribution to the thread–a link to some other guy’s ranting.

Do you actually have an opinion of your own, or are you not old enough or smart enough to have one yet?
