I mostly had decent teachers in college. First I went to a community college, then a state university, but neither one was very research oriented which I think led to a better quality of teacher. I had a few with accents of one kind or another, but I didn’t have too much trouble understanding them.
There were two professors I hated though. One had what a black student described as “black envy”. It was supposed to be an English/Critical Thinking class, but he turned it into an African-American Studies class. He’d pull crap like making us watch a documentary about Mumia Abu-Jamal, and then complain when we didn’t all agree that he was innocent. I guess his idea of “critical thinking” was “if you think about it properly, you’ll agree with me”.
The other one had some sort of Martha Stewart complex. She dressed like Martha, had hair like Martha, had a voice like Martha, and tried to talk like Martha except that she tended to stumble over her words and repeat herself. On top of that, she was a self-important bitch and the head of the Math and Computer Science department, and reminded you constantly of that fact.
