Aw crap. You’re right.
((bangs head))
Well um, I could see…isn’t there a Garlic Brothers restaurant in Stockton? I’m probably wrong about this as well.
Screw it :wally .

Yeah, but nobody knows the way there.
I think thats in Gilroy.
Na this is one thing (woo!) I was correct about: Haha!
Sorry they closed last year, call the number in your link.
Just kidding.
. . .
. . .
. . . You are a horrible person

And we end the hijack!
Hey, technically it’s true. That’s all that counts, right? If someone was idiotic enough to assert that every single liberal person in the world respected the military, this example would certainly prove them wrong.
I for one think it’s very helpful of Mr. Moto to pre-emptively dispel such a foolish claim. Plus, it puts the lie to the assertion that all conservatives really suck at pre-emptive action.
This reminds me. When Feinstein was mayor of San Francisco in the 80s, she was instrumental in turning Fleet Week into a really big deal. However, the “gay community” (so the term goes) wasn’t sold on the idea, so she had a town hall sort of meeting to try to get people onboard.
The story goes that she got up on stage, talked about how it was important for San Franciscans to buy into the week of events on behalf of the Navy, and told the mostly gay audience, “Now, I understand that many of you have differences with the military. But when these sailors come to town, I would really like it if you could welcome them with open arms.”
Some wiseacre stood up and said, “Oh, Madam Mayor, we will! We will!” Laughter insued.
(Feinstein, not having that good of a sense of humor, apparently stood there with a straight face, not getting the joke.)
Anyway, I think the SF city council made a really boneheaded move. Speaking purely in terms of politics and perception, the opening of the USS Iowa museum could have been a great platform for Newsom et al to talk about being for the troops but against the war, as an increasing number of Americans are. But nope, they rejected a floating tribute to the importance of the Navy to San Francisco and the Bay Area. Dumb, dumb, dumb. Shame on them.
Hijack …
Am I the only one hearing Tony Bennett singing the title of this thread in his head?
Just me, then?
The one she bankrupt?
Yeah, but evidently I’m the only one who thinks all this talk about the Navy “pulling out of San Francisco” is absolutely hilarious.
While agreeing that the OP goes a little overboard (heh), you are missing his caveats:
Although saying that **some **liberals don’t respect military service is no more a bombshell than saying some conservatives fetishize it.
So five liberals were able to fill up San Francisco?
The Iowa.
Damn.
Just…
Man, it’s not possible dollars. The Intrepid pulls in a fair haul in NY. And the Iowa?
That was just stupid. And wrong.
Or this one, which is docked just aft of the sub.
Hey asshole. You realize you’re judging an entire city based on the actions of 8 people, right?
Just checking.
Are you sure that laughter was the only thing that ensued?
Which just goes to show that D.C. is just full of cockbiters.
Wait a minute -
it’s long and hard and full of seamen, but San Francisco doesn’t want it?
There’s a first.
Regards,
Shodan
Hey!.. wha?
