The vote was almost 2:1 in favor of the abortion restrictions (19-10), so it’s likely the same bill will be revived and passed sometime in the future. However, SCOTUS’ decisions, expected today, may put the kibosh on that and render the bill’s provisions moot. Or not.
She’s used to immature name calling, whining, fussing, complaining, arguing. nonsensical accusations etc. There is probably more honor on the playground though. It was mostly a knee-jerk response of “I can do better than that dumb-ass!”

I don’t mind defeating a bad bill by voting it down. I don’t mind defeating it with procedural maneuvers such as filibusters and points of order. I don’t like the idea that legislation can be shouted down – even though I unreservedly approve of the outcome in this case.
I heartily approve this pitting, and would like to add my own “Fuck You” to these scumbags.
It’s like the GOP as a whole watched all the Bond moview, and decided that the villians just werent’ trying hard enough.
I think, unfortunately, that the Texas Republicans came to their senses. They knew the Supreme Court DOMA/Prop 8 ruling was coming out the next morning. They backed down from the abortion bill and changing the time stamp, figuring that would get their shenanigans out of the news while the court decision dominated the airwaves.
I do like the idea that extreme legislation, on either side, can be shouted down. It would discourage such extremism (of which this bill was an example) and encourage the sort of compromise that legislatures don’t make anymore.
The problem is that it wouldn’t be reserved for extreme bills, at least not by conservatives. It would be used for everything Democrats think is a good idea. It’s also vulnerable to the sort of astroturf groups that the right is great at putting together.

Personally, I stayed up until 3am watching and discussing the livefeed with one of my facebook groups. A rat-lovers fb groups, in fact, not even a political group. This crossed all the lines.
