That’s appropriate: if I cut off a car\*, it’s usually a mere annoyance. If I cut off a bike, it could be serious injury or death. Personally, I try to give motorcycles a wide berth. Heck, I don’t like driving in front of, behind or next to them for any length of time. Extra hidden/secret M4M-style thinking towards eg helmetless motorcyclists: “I wish you wouldn’t do that.” Interestingly, I can’t remember ever being told to give them a wide berth, either in person, through the media or in driver’s ed. Which may explain why aggressive drivers treat bikers the same way they treat other cars. Instead they say, “Bicyclists/bikers/whomever _share_ the same road.” This contrasts with the campaign to protect highway workers, [“Give them a brake!”](http://www.nevadadot.com/traveler/construction_projects/brake/) Methinks a new meme is in order. - Note that this is strictly a hypothetical: I don’t want to cut anybody off. ---
