I don’t go to stores, but the comment that leaps to mind is, “God, you must have a tiny dick, to be so insecure in your manhood that wearing a mask is too scary for you. Please stay back, I don’t want your tiny-dicked baby spittle landing on me - my balls might shrink from the exposure.” ---

Seeing this thread reminded me that I go back into the office next week. They’ve had my department on an alternating schedule – one week working at home, then one week working in the office. I’ve gotten used to it. When the state-wide mask mandate went into effect, the company provided all employees with three cloth masks – two that appear to be commercially made, and one cut from t-shirt material. The actual office side of the building has been marked so that all hallways are now single-direction. The exception to this is if you’re wearing a mask, in which case you can walk wherever you like. This has resulted in a near 100% mask-wearing rate for people in the office area; many of them have taken the time to purchase or make masks with pretty fabrics, or with a favorite sports team logo on them. People who work in production, testing, inspection, or other departments housed in the warehouse side of the building are under no such restrictions. Even when two or more employees are in a confined workspace about the size of a typical walk-in closet, no one is wearing a mask. Some of them will wear a mask chinstrap-style when entering the office area, and others will sometimes to remember to wear a mask so they can ignore the office area’s directional markings (there are no such markings in the warehouse). At least one of them wears a handmade sign on their shirt proclaiming that they can’t wear a mask due to a medical issue. Many employees in this area are quick to inform you that they don’t understand what all the fuss is about, as this is “just the flu,”, and that masks don’t block the virus anyway so what’s the point of wearing one unless you want to give in to living in fear. 😑 ---

Of all the ways “living in fear” could manifest, I would never have thought that “wearing a mask” would be it. I mean, it’s so easy a three year old can do it. It’s absolutely no effort to do. Wearing _pants_ is harder. Persons who wear pants are clearly living in fear of reprisal. Cowardly babies, those pants-wearers. ---

_Why_ do airplanes return to the gate to eject unruly passengers? I’d be fine with them just opening the door and booting them off. Have a cop drive out to arrest them. ---
