An altered tape that purports a Dem Congressman as a Hezbollah supporter (Dingell of MI). Republicans funding Green Party candidates (a pure gesture of civic virtue, no doubt…) Might we be wise to let this be the “catch-all” thread for slimy crud oozing from the pestilential pie-hole OR alternatively Open a new thread as each and every of these droll crumbs of malignancy drop into the public discourse. One the one pod, it may be that, individually, these are pin-pricks from needle-dicks, of insufficient moment for anything so grand as an SDMB thread. Lean over the curb, puke once, and forget it. On the other hand, it looks like the Pubbies are bringing in the sheaves, a bumper crop of mendacity. Between now and The Day of ReConning, one thread might be running to absurd lengths, with predictably absurd results. So Santorum is “slimy”, but it’s A OK to call someone a racist, put up some very weak support for that claim, and then announce that you refuse to discuss it anymore. Yes, this thread is about Santorum. I don’t agree with a lot of his politics, and his religiosity creeps the hell out of me, but I don’t think he’s a racist. So, if you don’t want to sidetrack this thread into whether he is or is not a racist, then you shouldn’t bring it up. If you do, you should be able to support it a lot better than you did.
