I don’t agree; I thought Kamala Harris was well-qualified and in any normal year might have done better. And of course in 2016, Hillary Clinton was _way_ more qualified than Trump. ---

My point was that there was no reason to “hold your nose” when voting in the 2024 Presidential Election. Either you voted for the competent normal Kamala Harris or you freely chose to vote for chaos and the end of the American experiment. ---

Even in the land of scammy party - adjacent operations , bothsidesism doesn’t survive scrutiny. They cater to different flavors of dimwits I guess. ---

Physicians in Kentucky are being targeted by scammers attempting to extort money and/or steal personal information. Excerpt from a Kentucky Board of Medical Licensure e-mail: “Over the past year, the Board has even noted the scammers are employing more sophisticated tactics and have spoofed the Board main phone number in attempt to convince their target that the call is legitimate and occasionally will send documents on fake KBML letterhead. Often, they will utilize an urgent and aggressive tone, refusing to speak or leave a message with anyone other than the physician and threaten some kind of Board action or action against the physician’s DEA unless thousands of dollars are wire transferred or sent via untraceable gift card numbers or bitcoin. There have even been reports that these scammers are informing physicians that involving their attorneys will only make things worse, which certainly should raise a red flag.” Haven’t been targeted yet, but I’m maintaining a stash of Wal-Mart gift cards to use, just in case. ---

Doesn’t personal recognizance (IME, it’s _own recognizance_; are they different?) actually mean they’re letting you go without posting bail, and the court is just trusting that you’ll show up at the appointed time?
