Geez. There are plenty of times when you _know_ someone has screwed you over (school, work, etc. etc.) but you have no way of proving it. Just because **Si Amigo** doesn’t have CSI-style DNA, enhanced video, and omnipotent PC database style evidence doesn’t mean he’s got nothing at all. Sux losing a cat (our first two wandered away when we let them out too soon) and if anyone specifically takes our current cat (~9 years and counting) I’d be indescribably mad at them. ---

Thanks for all you input Tripler, it really has been a story thats kind of been building up inside of me for most of the last year and your respones helped me get thru the thinking process of why I came to the decision that I did. I have completed my rant and will consider this last day a day of remembrance to my cat, Prince, on the almost one year anniversiry of his disappearance. He was a good cat and a much better speller than I. ;j He has been missed. ☹ ---

I read this and my first thought was, “I’ve got your cat! And you’re not getting him back!” Then I read the bit about small town, small county. Ah. I live in a big city. Also this cat loves the outdoors, unless there’s either a thunderstorm or a lawn mower nearby. (By nearby I mean, nearby and mowing.) The thing is this very handsome spotted cat wandered into my back yard last summer, right around the time you lost yours, and he is a sweetheart, and we actually looked rather zealously for Lost Cat posters etc. In our neighborhood. For about a week. Checked him for a chip. Then got him shots and all that. But we didn’t _steal_ him. (The cops are right; nobody steals cats, not even expensive ones.) So I will spend a few minutes feeling sorry for whoever lost this great cat, and for you for losing your great cat. And then I will go play some fetch with him. I hope your cat ended up in a loving home, but he probably did (as cats make lousy stew). ---

This cat could actually turn door knobs, but never got into the habit of shutting the door behind himself! 😃 Mind you, this is not the shabbily built up porch that some might imagine. It’s built on a concrete slab with “real” windows and walls. A screen door and a “real” door. It’s a finished porch that leads to deck, very cat secure. Yes, I trust that whoever got him (even the pyscho guy I’ve been ranting about) is taking good care of him, for he was a quite lovable cat. Even people that didn’t like cats liked this cat because he acted more like a dog than a housecat. 🆒 But I do know this, he had to be upset when it happen and when he got upset he would spray . . . 😃 ---

If your cat could open a door and run away scared (as you admitted he was outside the house) . . ahem, you get my idea. Or maybe your burglar opened the door enough that your cat was so scared, he ran away through the open door. Tripler I’m thinking like a logical engineer here. ---

Ah yes, logic. But you must agree my fine gentleman, that the very definitiion of a rant makes it illogical. 🙂 It is done for the mere enjoyment of venting pent up frustration that is ill-defined by logic or as a vehicle of conveying ill-logical, disconnected emotions.
