So I’m getting married in September this year and my brother in law is Best Man, and he’s asked me what I want to do for my stag party. Trouble is my mind is a blank at this kind of thing. I live in London and my friends and I don’t earn a whole lot, so it would have to be local-ish, but I wanted to do something different from the usual paintball that everyone seems to get up to nowadays. Any ideas, Dopers? 🙂 ---

I went out with several friends and played pool. My Best Man drove, and bought my rounds. In all, we all just had a good time. ---

A guy that I worked with came up with a unique scheme. He and his fiancee went out on the same night but swapped entourages - he went out with his fiancee’s female friends and his mates took his fiancee out. Apparently it worked really well - the girls were more adventurous than he expected, the guys were less idiotic than they would have been normally, and both groups met up late at night at some club to party on. Mind you he was the kind of guy that had his daughter from his previous marriage as best man at the wedding. ---

This sports writer, Bill Simmons, had the idea of buying a box of old baseball/basketball/hockey/whatever cards that contains a few dozen individual packs. You then pass out the packs and see if anybody gets a Jordan rookie or ARod rookie or something. Those boxes ‘only’ cost a couple hundred bucks and could yield some major finds. Plus, you get to relive shared sports memories as you look through the bad haircuts, terrible players and outdated uniforms. Sounds like an awesome idea. ---

I’m ot usually one for sequential threads, but I couldn’t help but notice the title of the thread directly under this one was “On Farts and Farting”… And that that completely fits under the OP’s request for suggestions where “_I don’t earn a whole lot, so it would have to be local-ish, but I wanted to do something different from the usual paintball that everyone seems to get up to nowadays_”.
