I’m back from torturing…err… testing. **Sean** I have been doing vocational evaluations on a bunch of school kids this week. It’s a bunch of tests and stuff to help explore job interest, skills etc followed up with a loooooooong report about test results, recommendations and all that good stuff. I like doing em but it’s torture for the evaluee. Heck, all tests are torture. That’s just a fact. \*\*Ashes[sup]2[/sup], indeed that is good \ material. And I like being called a TMI and juvenile idol. 😃 **puggy** I do have a copy of “The Bear Handbook” that might make nice bedtime readin’ material. Cold is when I can’t wear shorts. Warm is when I can wear shorts. It works for me. **Shibb** good luck on the job thingy! I am currently in a mess of data requests. Trying to merge, compare and send accurate, reliable data from about three different sources with thousands of records. Blech. I’ll get through it. How’s that for torture. I am also fixing to go to a division potluck. I brought cheesecake and a veggie tray. Sort of opposite ends of the spectrum, huh? I’d like to drop about 15 to 20 more pounds, but I’m lazy and I don’t exercise enough. I do get a fair amount of walking done because the hike from the parking lot to my building is quite a ways. Plus, I almost always take the stairs if I need to move around to the different levels of the hospital. If I exercised more, these last extra pounds would come off. However, I leave the house at 6:30 a.m and don’t return to until almost 6:00 p.m. (if I don’t have to stop to run errands on the way home). Then I need to cook dinner, do laundry, etc. Somehow, I need to squeeze exercising in there, but I just don’t _wanna_ by the time I get home. I eat correctly (most of the time), and I have dropped weight, but not enough. There was a period of time when I was losing weight w/out even trying (it must have been the all stress, all the time, diet), but it is finally slowing down. Time to put out a report, and get back to comparing and deleting dups and consolidating data. Oh, and **scout** , I’ll be sending you an e-mail today or tomorrow concerning my upcoming trip to San Diego. ---

I don’t speak French very well, so my posts would have to be in PigFrench. You know, _la-la-oo-ay_. French keyboards are a pain in the wazoo, even worse than German keyboards. I remember the last time I was in Paris and went to an Internet cafe, it took me forever to type. IIRC the Z and Y are switched, like the German keyboard, but then they move some other important keys around as well, plus cram a lot of extra stuff in to account for the diacritical marks. Or were you just joking? ---

**taters** , I know exactly what you mean. But two years ago I started getting up at 5:00 AM to do an hour on my treadmill every weekday morning. I still watch my diet pretty strictly but that hour makes it possible to cheat every once in a while, have a couple cocktails in the evening, and still fit into my size fours. It’s definitely worth it. Another Nurse Debbie[sup]TM[/sup] joke: Two little kids are in a hospital, lying on gurneys next to each other outside the operating room. The first kid leans over and asks, “What are you in here for?” The second kid says, “I’m in here to get my tonsils out and I’m a little nervous.” The first kid says, “You’ve got nothing to worry about. I had that done when I was four. They put you to sleep, and when you wake up they give you lots of Jell-O and ice cream. It’s a breeze.” The second kid then asks, “What are you here for?” The first kid says, “A circumcision.” The second kid says, "Whoa, good luck, buddy, I had that done when I was born. Couldn’t walk for a year… ---

Finally able to steal a moment away from work just in time to bump this so it doesn’t slide to page two. We can’t have that, now can we? Soup sounds good. Warm weather sounds better. I usually get a refund from my federal taxes, and while it’s never over $1000, I’m always happy to get it. This year, however, the refund from my federal and NJ state taxes will just cover what I owe to PA. The downside of living in one state and working in another. At least I’m not out of pocket, but I was sort of hoping to buy a new computer with the money, so I could chat with y’all on a more regular basis now that I don’t have as much free time at work. So taxes still suck swampwater. I really need some new clothes. Spring is coming and I’m tired of all my old stuff. ---

I need new clothes too. I’m thinkin’ of heading to _gasp_ the mall to find some. If you all knew me well, you’d know that I usually LOATHE shopping for clothes. I do it only when forced by circumstances. I need some clothes for my trip to San Diego. Dress code is “business casual” for the training that I am to attend. So, I need some clothes. I need some slacks and some nice tops and couple pair of shoes. I also need a new pair of jeans for the evenings. **Tupug,** I already get up between 4:30 and 5:00 to get ready for work. The 4:30 days are days I try to sneak a load of laundry or two or when I can’t get back to sleep after hubby leaves for work. This is really my only “down” time until around 8:30 or 9:00 every night. Yeah, I’m making lame excuses…I could squeeze some treadmill time in if I woke at 4:00 a.m., but it’s cold in the garage at 4:30 in the morning. No, I’m not moving the treadmill into the house. Well, I need to work on some more data… ---

Found the MMP lost and lonely on page 2. That won’t do! Big project at work this week, practically no life, on- or offline, but I wanted to respond to **Bumba** : if your product is good enough, shipping costs aren’t going to be a big deal. I’d rather buy something handmade and original than go to the nearest Bath and Body Works and buy the mass-produced stuff that everyone else is getting… Someone handed me a pageful of puns the other day. Here’s one: A group of chess enthusiasts checked into a hotel and were standing in the lobby discussing their recent tournament victories. After about an hour, the manager came out of the office and asked them to disperse. “But why?” they asked as they moved off. “Because,” he said, “I can’t stand chess-nuts boasting in an open foyer.” Happy Friday (it IS Friday, isn’t it?)! Suppose for the moment that you publish a newspaper in a medium sized US city. Suppose further that it’s a Hearst publication and your only competition is a couple of pathetic independents like the Troy Record and the Schenectady Gazette. How bad would your circulation figures have to get before you hired people to stand on every street corner and hand out your rag for free? I swiped this joke from my LJ friends page (I’d heard it before but I can never remember jokes). Penguin gets bored and goes on vacation to Australia. Rents a car with A/C. The car starts acting up. He is concerned about this, being out in the desert, so pulls into the first service station he sees. The mechanic says he will be a moment figuring out what is wrong, so the penguin make a beeline for the waiting area, and sees a vending machine. Poor little bird sees ice-cream in it and eats a bunch and gets it all over. After a while he goes to see the mechanic and ask what is wrong. The mechanic turns and looks at the penguin and says "looks like you’ve blown a seal. The penguin replies, “No No, it’s just ice cream.” ---

It is FRIIIIIIIDAY! Yeah! Right on! Can you tell that I am DAMN happy this week is over! Chee-rist on a pogo stick…this has been a hellacious week. We have a staff meeting at one at which an announcement will be made that is SURE to royally piss some people off. In fact, because of this anticipation, union representation will be there. :rolleyes: Do you know what the big ruckus is all about? It’s about moving staff around within the office. For myself, I’m happy with the proposed plan because I will FINALLY be in a more private area and can keep my damn door shut so I can concentrate. In fact, this move is really more advantageous to everyone involved, but some people just aren’t happy unless they’re bi-, er, kvetching. Is it obvious I think the whole thing is ridiculous. **Mr. Taters** and I discussed the fact that we don’t want to go ANYWHERE or DO ANYTHING this weekend. I am so looking forward to this. We have had a really crammed social calendar for quite some time and I’m just a little tired of going out every weekend. Who would of thunk that? The only thing I plan on doing is going to the mall to buy some clothes. Plus, I need to get the son hiking boots and new tennis shoes because he’s going to 6th grade camp at the end of the month. Plus, he needs a couple of other items. Well, back to work. ---

Thanks for the welcome **Rue** , it’s like being welcomed into the palace by the king himself. All those things you said about boring posts in the MMP are just flat out untrue, as I’ve always read these for the excellent social commentary and high brow humor that you folks provide. And on to the joke… My dad walked in on me masturbating (like a motherfuck!) one day and said “if you keep doing that you’ll go blind!” I said “Dad, I’m over here”. ---

I go to the gym at lunch. It takes me a bit longer, getting decent again, but my boss lets me make it up at the end of the day. While I give up some free time at lunch, I feel like it has given me my evenings and weekends back, since I have so much more energy. **Taters,** since you work at a hospital, don’t they have exercise equipment? You wouldn’t even have to travel. Just a thought. **GT,** loved the pun! ---

Phew!!! I just got done putting together materials for my team leader to take to a big client meeting. He’s a tad ADD so I had to ride herd on him lest he see something shiney and wander off. But he’s gone now and I only have one project to get done this afternoon. I like Fridays when you get to coast during the afternoon. Sorta eases ya into the weekend. 🙂 **swampy** , and all others who may even remember, the stone tile floor is officially DONE!!! How long has it been? Six months? Jeesh! They could have built the colleseum in that amount of time! It took the installers a MONTH just to put it in. Glad I wasn’t payin’ them by the hour. But it looks really, really, good…does not show doggy footy-prints…and feels really good on bare people footies. Wish I didn’t have to do anything this weekend, but we gotta go pick out a new chandelier and there’s family visiting from outta state. Oh, well… Bring on the weekend anyhoo!!!
