Sometimes it is possible to JUST miss by a hair, and easily renavigate. But if they’re digging for gold in there like a miner, I’d personally ask them to please re-try.

I’ve actually seen a nurse activate a blunting mechanism on a needle either on purpose or accidentally and continue to probe. shudders

Oh, and FYI for those of you with huge veins that have been missed by needles – large veins tend to roll, and are harder to anchor. They’re actually easier to miss than smaller, moderately sized veins that are better anchored into the tissues of the arm.
