The first three were easy. #4 took a little thought. #5 was a ten-way toss-up, so I just picked one.
Though I didn’t vote for them, I was pleased to see Allen & Rossi on the list. I remember thinking they were hilarious when I was a very tiny tyke, although I can’t recall any of their material now (other than Marty Allen’s catch phrase, “Helllloooo dere!”). I don’t think many other people remember them today.

Very glad to see Rik & Ade up there. I voted for them, they’re my favorite. And of course voted for Laurel & Hardy then because clearly I love to see violent slapstick.
French & Saunders got my vote too because they are balls-to-the-wall with what they will do and they don’t even have balls!
I also voted Fry & Laurie and Penn & Teller. I think they both are Python-level funny as pairs, and extremely intelligent.
I also like Mitchell & Webb but I don’t think they’re as genius as the 5 I voted for.

I don’t know enough of the American and historic duos for a fair vote. I think I prefer sketch comedians, in groups larger than two, such as the Goons and Monty Python.
You have The Two Ronnies but not Morecambe and Wise, nor Reeves and Mortimer. That’s a shame. Fry and Laurie, however, are geniuses.
Even though this poll will remain open for another two-plus weeks I think we have enough information to have a Final Poll with one vote per voter to select the Very Favorite Duo. The 20% and up group ought to provide the basis for that.
