The subway fight between Neo and Smith in **The Matrix** : A couple parts came off as cartoony. The short, sequential cuts of them each taking shots at each other (specifically when Smith grabs a punch and Neo straightens his hand to jab him in the throat). Also the end, when Smith gets hit by the train, only to emerge from the car seconds later. Whenever I see that, I think of Bugs Bunny dropping a safe on Yosemite Sam. ---

_Hudson Hawk_ with Bruce Willis has some hilarious moments, including a fight where an enemy’s jump kick goes awry when Bruce bends down to pick up his hat. You also can’t forget the climactic scene where the British enemy accidentally decapitates himself. “He won’t be attending that hat convention in July!” _Hudson Hawk_ is a very underrated movie. ---

The Drake Magistral novels ( very funny; pick them up if you can ) novels by Walter John Williams have some funny fight scenes. I recall one involving a 7 foot berserk Ronnie Romper ( a children’s cartoon character, actually an alien in a holographic disguise ), a badly injured man who’s strapped in a powered exoskeleton and high on painkillers, and a woman surgically altered to look like Elvis. At one point, the running fight passes through a stage where an alien is performing an Elvis impersonation in front of a large audience; almost spoils his performance. ---

The one that always cracks me up is from the original **Dawn of the Dead**. Peter (Ken Foree) is fighting his way through a gauntlet of zombies, and every time he lands a punch, he makes the sound of the contact _with his mouth_ ! And not only does it sound stupid, but you can actually see his mouth making the sound! Look, I know it’s a low-budget film, but how much can a Foley artist add to the budget? For intentionally funny, the fight scene between Austin Powers and Mini-Me has to rank right up there. The whole thing is hilarious in and of itself–the crotch-chomp was icing on the cake!
