Many scenes are wonderful in _Tootsie_, but the best scene is when Bill Murray comes home to find Dustin Hoffman being pawed by the older actor from the soap cast. Murray’s long, drawn-out take after the actor leaves only improves his wonderful two word line:

“You slut!”

I’m not a big comedy watcher but the movie [Noises Off](http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0105017/) almost killed me. I was with some friends and we laughed so hard we rewound it and watched the whole thing again.

There is a scene in the middle where the action backstage is more dramatic than what’s going on up front. When they are playing keep away with the bottle of scotch kills me.

The best line from Clue;

Wadsworth: I’m merely a humble butler.
Col. Mustard: What exactly do you do?
Wadsworth: I buttle, sir.

Look at all these Clue lovers coming out of the woodwork! I also loved the scene where the doorbell rings and they all come running out of their floors and CRASH! one big heap on the landing. And also when Mrs. White is screaming, and Tim Curry says, “I’m coming! What’s this - another door?” Only to turn on the shower.

I thought Something About Mary when he’s “flogging the dolphin” was pretty hilarious especially with the classical music. And then it’s on his ear! BWAHAHA!

… “Return of the Living Dead” (a really great underrated horror comedy)

When the cadaver in storage is let loose and tackles Bert and they saw off it’s head… okay… not necessarily funny… but when the cadaver stands up headless and stumbles around the warehouse… I can’t help but crack up.

I love **Clue** , too. When I saw it in the theatre, I saw “Ending C” (the one where everyone did it) and couldn’t imagine how any other ending could have made sense. When I finally saw A & B on cable, I knew C was the only right answer.
Loved \*all \* Madeline Kahn’s bits.

Many of my all time faves have already been mentioned
The Princess Bride: the scene on the castle wall with Fezzig, Inigo, & Westley
“Your strength, my brains, and his steel, against 60 men? And you think a little head jiggle is supposed to make me happy? Hmmmm?”

btw, **RevTim** , don’t waste your money on the Steve Martin **Pink Panther**. You will be sorely disappointed if you’re expecting the same quality as the Peter Sellers one.
Airplane! the first cockpit scene. “Roger, Roger. What’s our vector, Victor?”

Spaceballs - Bill and John (I foget the characters’ names) are in the diner refueling for thelong trip home. John Hurt (and other \*\*Alien \*\* actors) are having a bite at the other end of the counter… “Oh, no. Not again.”
(which by the also snuck up in **Shrek 2** , and Puss was attacking Shrek…)

oh there are so many more - I’ll post as I think of them

Very underrated.

After the boss poisoned himself and his new employee with undead juice:

“You asshole!”
“You watch your tongue, boy, if you like this job.”
“LIKE THIS JOB?!?”

“Return of the Living Dead” is friggin’ hysterical. One of my favorite movies of all time. James Karen as Frank gave one the funniest performances ever. When Burt (Clu Gulager) tells him he has to axe the zombie when it comes out of the freezer, and he makes that “Ahhh God” noise, that was perfect.

**anyrose** , thanks for the heads up on the remake, I never had any desire to see it anyway. I like Steve Martin, but Peter Sellers and ONLY Peter Sellers is Inspecter Clouseu.

The end of **Life of Brian** ; a couple dozen people, nailed to crosses, and they break out in song. The most fearless, and perfect, moment of pure absurdity I’ve ever seen.

And also the end of **My Man Godfrey**. Irene (the enchanting Carole Lombard) finds Godfrey (William Powell) at his new apartment, and proceeds to move in and marry him almost before he knows what’s happening. The best closing line in movie history, “Hold still, Godfrey, it’ll all be over in a minute.”

OJ Simpson’s unfortunate scene on the boat in **Naked Gun**. Stepping into the bear claw, falling into a wedding cake…I just picture how much fun the writers have coming up with these incongruous items to include. 🙂

\*\*Four Weddings and a Funeral \*\* when they have to come up with alternate wedding rings.

That movie is brilliant. It is good to see so many others here appreciate it as well (nods to **Revtim** , **tdn** , and **Push You Down** ).

Frank makes the same noise when he turns over the half-dog.

My favorite exchange from that movie (and there are SO many):

Freddy: Where do they get the skeletons from?
Frank: International treaty, all skeletons come from India.
Freddy: No kidding, how come?
Frank: How the hell do I know how come? The important question is, where do they get all the skeletons with perfect teeth? How many people do you know who die with a perfect set of choppers in their puss?

Happy Texas, where the two heroes are trying to figure out who they are impersonating:
“Maybe we’re tailors…who travel around…sewing circus clothes for midgets.”

Mystery Men: Any scene with Captain Amazing. Also the scene where the Blue Raja is standing on his bed talking to himself and pretending to be fighting the bad guys, when his mom walks in on him.

Austin Powers: The therapy session with Dr. Evil and Scott Evil.

The LSD-reveal scene in **Flirting With Disaster** , when Alan Alda and Lili Tomlin make their son apologize for spiking what was supposed to have been Mel’s quail (but which the older gay BATF agent consumed instead). The petulant, defensive apology is worthy of an eight-year-old:

“All right, all _right_! I’m _sorry_ that I put Windowpane in Mel’s quail and I’m sorry that _you ate it_!”

To be matched a few minutes later by Alan Alda’s tantrum about not going back to jail, with his whiniest voice and jumping up and down…

EXCELLENT answer… although the funniest scene in that movie may be the bushman trying to drive the jeep backwards…

The funniest sex scene I’ve ever seen was in **The Tall Guy** with Jeff Goldblum and Emma Thompson. They manage to totally destroy a bedroom just getting each other undressed and onto the bed.
