# Funniest Posters?

Hi All,  
Former lurker, first time poster (\<–sounds strangely like a radio call-in show).  
Having been digging around the SDMBs for a few weeks, I recently found a very moving post by Scylla in reference to his Irish Wolfhound. This, in turn, led me to Evil Nazi Groundhogs, a nasty story about the evils of Blimps and various and sundry threads about man-thongs, liverwurst sandwiches, chainsaws, pocketknives and the relative merits of Rush Limbaugh.  
So now, after cleaning the spittle off my brand new 23 inch monitor and annoying the hell out of my SO by giggling well into the wee hours for several nights in a row, I am driven to ask…  
What other Posters and/or threads would be recommended by those whose time here can be measured in a time frame longer than weeks?  
Thanks for your suggestions and nice to meet all of you supremely intelligent and humorous people, …finally.

**Master Wang Ka** gets my vote. Whether he’s chasing a Jehovah Witness down the street with a sword, prying a snapping turtle off a friend’s ass, or lighting farts…he brings teh funny.

For ensemble performance, it’s going to be hard to top the “Funny things heard during sex” thread.

Ok…3 replies to a first time poster in 30 minutes or so…  
Amazing to this neophyte. In my 24 years with a computer (started with Mac 512k) and 15 on the interwebs, this is only the third time I have ever deigned to post to a general (meaning…not an “omg it’s a friggin’ tragedy and I have to have help now” [read “car repair” or “my toilet just sank into the bathroom floor”]) type message board.  
Those particular message boards took at least 5!!! days to get an answer…well after said crisis had been fixed, repaired, shored-up or otherwise ignored til spring rolled around.  
AND…there aren’t 15 “welcome to the board, hope somebody else can answer your question” posts first. Cool.  
I love this place and I’ve only be here for moments in dog years.  
Gotta sleep…tomorrow is down day…18 full hours to peruse the recommended hilarious post and threads. You guys are the best thing that ever happened to a very rural, very northern, winter slump.

Welcome to the board, **loshan**. **Master Wang Ka** is/was indeed hilarious, but I haven’t seen anything from him in years. **elucidator** is pretty quick and facile and good for a chuckle now and then. Lots of funny OPers and retorters around here, but they seem to lack consistency so it’s the board overall that I find to find the most funny.

Ya know, I don’t post on any other message boards because the ignorance and language skills are appalling. Have a look at the comments on Youtube. Have a look at the comments to stories on Canada’s national newspaper “The Globe and Mail.” Have a look at comments posted on Canada’s sports network, TSN.

I’m absolutely amazed at the ignorance. This place is good.

The name that first popped into my mind when I read the title was/is [Shirley Ujest](http://boards.straightdope.com/sdmb/member.php). There have been some posts where the topic kept her from being as witty as she is capable of, but I’d guess that 90% of her posts are downright hilarious. She’s a bright spot here. As a prime example, one of her most recent additions to the Dead Pool thread just cracked me up.

There was this one with a picture of an alien, with the caption: “We are watching you.” And it glowed in the dark, so if you were in there at night, you always had those eyes…probably not fun for the person living there, but certainly funny for any guests.
