And one more oldie, Bill Maudlin was a cartoonist during WWII and did single-panel strips that showed the dark humor often found in war. I’ve always enjoyed Tom Cheney’s work. His cartoons have been in the New Yorker for many years and I think of him as the less famous Gary Larson.
