There’s a wonderful Bizarro cartoon where two mechanics and a customer are standing at the entrance to a garage, and the lift has pancaked the customers car into the ceiling. One of the mechanics says, “Gary’s opinion is we wouldn’t have been able to fix it anyway.” ---

I don’t know how folks do it - favorite song, favorite food, favorite cartoon. Hell, I wouldn’t even have a favorite in a calender of cartoons let alone the tens of thousands I’ve seen in my life. A couple of notes: Frank and Earnet is IMO very much under appreciated. Likewise perhaps surprisingly Mother-Goose and Grimm. That alleged non-Kliban linked above does look and sound rather Klibanish. “School for the Gifted” - didn’t even have to click the link, instantly came to mind. ---

My favorite Far Side is one from **The Complete Far Side**. It seems to be a male thing, because my father-in-law and I died laughing at it, while his wife and my wife just looked puzzled and shook their heads. I can’t find it online, but: The panel shows a lovely morning scene, sun rising in the background. In the foreground, there is a tree. Just below the tree, a monkey-like being is flat on its stomach, with a very surprised look on its face, clearly just having fallen out of the tree. Caption: “The Dawn of Man.” I am seriously laughing just thinking about it. ---
