My ex and I had a few occasions to drive by [this particular sign](http://www.flickr.com/photos/hillaryandanna/2110677312/) along I-80 in northern Nevada. We always assumed a spelling-challenged Lord Vader was lurking about in the vicinity. ---

On the highway in Ontario leading east out of Detroit, there was a street sign that said: “Sexton Side Ave.” Someone came along and blotted out the “t”. ---

A sign on the 401 near Napanee proudly announces that if you’ll just leave the freeway, you can soon be at Hell Holes Nature Trails. I don’t want to go, because I’ve heard the place is a… well, what it’s called. ---

Several years ago I was watching a Cubs game against the Kansas City Royals. One of the Royals’ players was Chili Davis. A KC fan held up a homemade sign that said, “Chili, give us the runs.” ---

In Memphis, TN, Union Ave. has an overpass that goes over some railroad tracks and other stuff. Off that overpass, there was an exit for Flicker St. (It may still be there, it’s been decades since I’ve driven over that bridge) that was identified by the street name. Originally, like all the other exit signs, the name was written in all Caps (FLICKER ST), but I guess too many people had the “L” and the “I” blur together to form a “U”, so it was changed to “Flicker St”. excavating (for a mind) ---

The Knoxville IceBears used to have a player, Mike Craigen, was rather short for a hocley player. He was one of the guys you want on your team - but hate if he’s on the other team. One of our fans held up a sign to the glass: “You must be this tall to play this game”. He about fell out laughing. Nice guy, off the ice. He’s now their coach. ---

For example, the western terminus of Interstate 80 is in San Francisco, and there is no sign there telling how many miles it is to the other end.
