I am giving the browser a try and activated my G-mail account in it.

Then the g-mails started pouring in — from 2006 onward!
I’ve spent some time manually deleting but it’s hopeless!

I have no idea why Opera does this. Do you?

Any suggestions about the mail itself? Let it be. Delete? It’s
not on my HD, is it?

Probably using POP3. That will download all e-mails in your inbox to your computer. It sometimes deletes it from the server, too, though I don’t think that’s the default for Opera (it is for Outlook Express, so beware).

I used to love Opera’s email client, but Gmail obsoleted it. Look into Gmail’s new offline mode - it’s the best of both worlds.

I deleted the browser entirely.

Thanks for the information.
