I have a yearly bill that I pay to a friend. For the last couple of years I’ve written some funny/embarrassing things on the subject line. ‘For sexual favors’ ‘Heroin…I mean ‘legal stuff’’ I’m looking for new and witty things to put on the memo line of the next check. Any ideas? ---

I hate to be mister killjoy but you better be careful about putting things that sound like actual crimes or threats on a check, most stuff is never seen by a human eye nowadays but a jumpy clerk could cause a world of hurt. Then LEO might get annoyed at their time being wasted and decide to put you through the ringer too. ---

This. I’ve seen wire payments cancelled or seized on account of profanity or questionable references, so be careful what you write. It’s a different world nowadays. ---
