Not vanity plates, but locally, because of the luck of the draw a couple years ago, we had a rash of “time and temp” plates. Like 4AM 19F. They were everywhere. I thought it was funny, and until I saw several of them, I thought they were vanities. ---

That’s funny. I’d never heard of that. As it happens, the initials of both my sister and one of my sons are common three-letter license plate prefixes around here. I see them all the time. ---

Speaking of prefixes, my trying-to-lose-weight friend got a plate starting with BFAT. She was Not Amused, and paid the extra $250 or so to get a vanity plate. ---

On **Car Talk** I heard about a plate on an _Isuzu_: GSNDHT A few years ago here in TN there were a lot of ordinary plates coming out LSD _XXXX_. I don’t see them any more, except in flashbacks. ---

Someone I know posted a pic of a car with New Hampshire plates. LBS-VAG Someone at DMV was not paying attention. ---
