There is a whole website that is a “vandalised” version of Wikipedia. The articles are deliberately full of jokes and false information.

[QUOTE=mobo85]
At one time, Wikipedia kept some of its funniest vandalisms in an archive called “Bad Jokes and Other Deleted Nonsense”. [This archive](http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wikipedia:Yet_more_Best_of_BJAODN) of some of it contains my favorite Wikipedia vandalism of all time: the story of Strings McPickens, the heroic banjo player.
[/QUOTE]

Some of these are hilarious. The string of jokes related to the Bahai faith, the in-depth analysis of the various restroom facilities at a certain high school, and maybe my favorite, the list of former Al Qaeda #3 men (many of whom seem to have been killed by Predators) which includes Robocop, Fatty Arbuckle, J.R. Ewing, and Max Rebo.

Sorry to drag this back from the dead, but I just came across the following in the article for the Belgian fast chain [Quick](http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Quick_(restaurant_chain))

> [@](#):
>
> On July 5th, 2009, after a delicious July 4th feast the previous day at a Burger King franchise in Barcelona, Spain, an American youth ventured outside his comfort zone in order to try the European attempt at fast food. The outcome was neither fast nor delicious. The serving time was an indefensible 15 minutes. This tragedy was only exacerbated by a server who spoke only French (no English, the superior language of international business and commerce…and fast food) and a very, very small excuse for a milkshake. As a result of this experience the aforementioned youth reached the only viable conclusion: the full force of the American military industrial complex would be needed to forever wipe the Quick fast food chain from the face of the earth. After a brief, but indispensable, conference with his comrades, the youth determined that remote activated “briefcase” nuclear devices would be required in order to complete the mission. With the formula for destruction laid out, the plan was put into motion. In the early morning hours of July 6th every single franchise of the Quick fast food brand was vaporized in just over 400 three megaton nuclear explosions. The recovery effort was sponsored by McDonald’s in cooperation with Burger King and KFC. Americans at home and all around the world celebrated with a Big Mac and Coke.

I’m sure it won’t last long.

Just wanted to add that Quick indeed only sells vile food.

a couple of years ago I looked up the page for [computer mouse.](http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mouse_(computing)) Someone had done a search/replace, and replaced every instance of the word “mouse” with the word “dildo.” So, for example, the article spoke of the history of the dildo, multi-button dildos, and so on, culminating with the development of “wireless optical dildo technology.” The edit didn’t last long, but it was funny as hell.

The edit page for [homeotic genes](http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Homeotic_genes) used to have the comment “don’t even think about vandalising this. It will be reverted in minutes, and ‘Homoerotic Genes’ isn’t funny.” I went to the history of the page specifically to see how many times it had been changed into that 🙂

I ran into some issues with my hometown’s Wikipedia entry [earlier this year.](http://boards.straightdope.com/sdmb/showthread.php?t=500614) It was fixed relatively quickly.
